Nerd Nite #115 happens on May 14 and it’s a mid-May mélange of something for every Nerd:

Space Nerds: Sarah Lamm, PHd candidate at KU Department of Geology will talk about their time as an “Analog Astronaut at the Mars Desert Research Station.”

History Nerds: May is the anniversary of Anne Boleyn’s execution, so local educator and history buff, Jeanne Averill will be discussing all things Anne.

Film Nerds: What’s so great about going to the movies? Marlo Angell, organizer of the Free State Fest (coming up in June!), will be exploring “The Art of Movie-Going” taking us back to the early days of magic lanterns, the silent cinema experience, movie palaces, 3D and smell-o-vision and through today’s trend of theatre experiences trying to replicate our living rooms!

Grab a drink, socialize and get your Nerd on! Thrilling raffle prizes! Engaging Presentations! All this and more for just $1 (which includes your raffle ticket)!

Doors open at 7:30 and talks start at 8pm! It will be an eclectic evening of engaging presentations and we can’t wait to see you! Be there, and be square!

Macelli’s is located at 1031 New Hampshire St, Lawrence, KS 66044

And don’t forget we are currently recruiting folks to do 3 minute presentations for our annual “Summer Shorts” on July 10! Do you know a little about something big? Do you know a lot about something small? Summer Shorts is the place for you! Hit us up with questions or to get added to the line-up!

Be there and be square!
